Mrs. Smita Pant

Consul General of India

Mrs. Smita Pant is a career Diplomat. She joined the Foreign Service in 2001. She has served in various capacities in the Indian Missions in Madrid and London. In the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, she has handled work relating to India’s relations with Afghanistan, European Union and UK, and Bangladesh.

Mrs. Pant assumed the charge of the Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City on 12 August 2014.

Mrs. Pant holds Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. Her areas of interest include philosophy, international politics and psychology. Being vegetarian, she thoroughly enjoys Vietnamese vegetarian cuisine.  She speaks Hindi, English and Spanish. She is married to Mr. Jashandeep Singh and has two sons, Angad and Arihant.
